Peppers Broadbeach

The room itself was beautiful, but the service was nowhere near what I’d expect from a hotel of this level. Our apartment was never serviced during our three nights. We were there for two nights of wedding preparations and then our honeymoon night, so the repeated problems caused a lot of stress during an important occasion. At check-in, the bond quoted was much higher than the amount confirmed by phone. My husband, whose card was used for the booking, was in NSW, and staff wouldn’t accept a digital card. The bond was over $1,000, more than I had on my secondary card. The receptionist suggested I ask a friend to cover it, which was embarrassing and inappropriate. My husband had to pull over on the freeway on his way to the airport to give his card details. After that, we were handed keys with no directions or explanation of which tower we were in. No one offered help or a luggage trolley while we struggled with our bags. The keys didn’t work in the lift, so I left our luggage there and went back to reception. We were in the wrong tower, in a separate building altogether. I won’t return or recommend the hotel. Management needs to look at front desk training, communication, and how guests are treated.

You can walk along the wide concrete path from Kurrawa Beach Club and the well organised, safe playground toward Mermaid Beach to the south or Surfers Paradise the other way. Pratten Park is nearby, running alongside the lovely beaches, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants around. Oracle towers sit right in the heart of Broadbeach, between Elizabeth and Charles Avenue. Surely one of the best spots on the whole coast.

Our roomy two-bedroom apartment had everything we needed, and the pool area was lovely. The room had new furnishings and was very nice, with great views to surfeited. Reception were accommodating, probably helped by it not being school holidays and the place not being too busy. There’s no daily room service, but they brought anything we asked for.

The location was great, with trams to lots of other areas, so we didn’t really need to hire a car. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby. We were in tower 1 in a nice, fully equipped apartment, with a sea view partly blocked by another tower, though not too badly. There’s no room service. The pool was okay, but it can get quite windy. I’d come back.
