Peppers Soul Surfers Paradise

The pool, steam room, and sauna were really good, and the hotel is only 100m from the beach. Those were the highlights of a stay that otherwise felt very overpriced and below a five star standard. I won’t be staying again. We booked a three bedroom ocean view serviced apartment for six nights, but the service was hardly there. Daily cleaning meant making the beds. Towels weren’t changed, even when one had makeup on it, it was folded and put back. The toilets weren’t cleaned properly, sheets stayed the same throughout, and the living area was never tidied or cleaned. The beds were uncomfortable, and the very outdated furniture had stains on most seats. The Foxtel control didn’t work. Breakfast was included, but the buffet was simple with little variety. The lifts took ages, and once we waited almost 15 minutes. Towels weren’t kept at the pool facilities, so you had to bring your own.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped, overlooking the beach. It was quiet and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. Great places to eat and shop were right nearby. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks.

We’d been getting nervous from the online reviews before our visit, but I’m so glad we went ahead. I can’t think of a negative thing about the stay. We arrived early and our room was ready, and the front desk team were welcoming. Someone brought a complimentary bottle of wine and a cute box of chocolates to the room. Room 5505 was a clean three-bedroom, two-bath suite facing north, with views of both the ocean and mountains. The furniture wasn’t dated, the kitchen was well stocked, and the washer and dryer came with detergent, which was handy for freshening up our clothes before continuing our holiday. We stayed four nights, so there wasn’t a full refresh and they didn’t clean the floors. Housekeeping still came daily to empty the bins, make the beds, clean the bathroom, and leave fresh towels. They arrived by 3pm each day. When we called downstairs on the first day for extra face clothes, they arrived within five minutes. The elevators were fine for us. With three serving the higher floors, we never waited more than a minute. At checkout, when one was full, we pressed the button again and another came in 45 seconds. The outdoor pool was gorgeous, looking right out at the ocean. There’s an indoor pool too, though we didn’t use it. The only letdown was the pool bar, where the very nice staff member said their shipment hadn’t arrived, so choices were limited to beer and a small selection of wine. The location in Surfers is hard to beat, with the beach right there and shops, restaurants, and the tram a short walk away. Thanks, Peppers Soul, for a wonderful holiday. We’ll definitely be back.

The kids especially loved the short drive to the theme parks, including my niece. Peppers Soul made our family holiday memorable, and we’d definitely consider staying again. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and our lovely apartment had beautiful views of the Surfers Beach coast from the balcony. We appreciated the daily housekeeping and pools that worked for all ages. It was also conveniently close to many attractions. Thank you to everyone at Peppers Soul Paradise.
