Reflection Tower Two

The location is good, and the kitchen appliances worked well, but the sink tap splashed water everywhere. The pool and spa sit in a wind corridor, so we could rarely use them. Inside, the bedding was uncomfortable and the apartment wasn’t very clean. I had to wipe things down before putting my clothes in the closet, and fix some furniture. The receptionist was unpleasant too. We were told to bring our own dishwashing liquid, laundry powder and toilet paper, even though we were staying for a week. Room 205.

The beachfront location on Marine Parade and the ocean views are world-class, and I still love Coolangatta. The front desk team was warm and welcoming, and the apartment was spacious and mostly well-appointed. But maintenance made the premium price hard to justify. The large left gas burner didn’t work, the Miele oven dials were worn blank and the oven wouldn’t heat, so I had to abandon plans to roast lamb for a small dinner party. The walls were heavily scuffed, and the tired carpet had lots of spots and needed a deep clean or replacement. It seems maintenance problems are common in some older units. The apartments are privately owned, so it feels like renovation roulette. Some guests get a recently updated place and return for decades; with the tired unit I had, the non-working oven and burner, marked walls and spotted carpet made the price sting. The staff are fantastic, especially Maree, who deserves a pay rise. Fixing these issues could make the place unbeatable. I still highly recommend it and would give Reflections another go. If you’re booking or returning, ask for a recently renovated, higher-floor, north-facing unit. It should improve your odds.

We spent more than seven days at Reflection Tower 2 and couldn’t find a fault. The in-room facilities had everything we needed, and the room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The ocean views were stunning, and the location puts you right in the heart of Coolangatta. The whole stay exceeded our expectations, from beginning to end. A 10 out of 10 for us, and we’d absolutely stay again.

We were on level 19, and the outlook was fantastic. Reflections Tower 2 is in an excellent part of Coolangatta, and the views are outstanding, so we were happy to pay for that. Check-in was hassle-free, and we barely dealt with staff otherwise. The apartment itself was very average for the price. It felt old, the carpet was filthy, and there was a strong unpleasant smell when the room was shut up. For a comparatively expensive place, that was disappointing. The view and location are premium, but the room needs investment. Even a couple of thousand dollars on new carpet would make a huge difference. Right now, the condition doesn’t match the price.
