Burleigh is a lovely place to relax, with supermarkets, cafes and nice surf clubs. Guests at solnamara get a discount at one of them. Light rail work is also closing some roads nearby at the moment, though it should be a good transport option once it’s finished. Our three bedroom apartment was okay and clean enough, but a few small things showed the wear of long term holiday letting. Nothing that would ruin a holiday. Check in staff were okay too. What did affect our stay was the construction next door. We hadn’t been told about it when booking, and on weekdays there was constant noise from a drill rig, concrete pump, excavator and other equipment between 7am and 5pm. We were out for much of Friday, but still heard it in the morning. The building work isn’t under solnamara’s control, but letting guests know is. It would be better to stay here when there’s no construction.

The staff were lovely and the apartment was clean, but the one we stayed in definitely didn’t feel like a four star place. The living area and kitchen were nice apart from the stained lounges. The laundry still had 70s tiles, and the bathroom updates, probably done in the 90s, are looking tired. Sugar ants also came into the kitchen, and the aircon didn’t cool the second bedroom well.

The view from our room was wonderful, and we couldn’t have loved our stay more. Staff were so friendly and their service was exceptional.

We paid $2200 for the week and weren’t told there was a high rise going up next door. Drilling woke us at 6:30am every day and carried on until 4:30pm. We won’t be back.

The rooms and views at Solnamara are fabulous, and I love the position. Christine is a wonderful hostess. It’s a bit noisy at the moment because of the construction next door, but Solnamara is now our only choice for accommodation in Burleigh.
