Surfers Paradise Retreat With Free Parking

We’ve stayed at Paradise Centre Apartments many times and usually enjoyed it, but after paying a hefty price for 14 nights in Room 1102 Allunga, we found the standard nowhere near acceptable. The air con barely worked and blew hot air. We checked it ourselves and found the filter completely blocked with dust, so we had to clean it to make it usable. Housekeeping was also a problem: we were told linen and towels would be changed after eight days, but they weren’t changed at all during our stay, even after we asked reception twice. On arrival, the floors were dirty, there were only half a toilet roll in the ensuite and one in the main bathroom, and no spare supplies. Cockroaches came up through the bathroom drains daily, so we had to buy spray ourselves. We have videos. There were no pots or pans to cook with, unlike on previous stays, and someone else’s clothes were left in the bedroom cupboard. That really made us question the cleaning and attention to detail. This was very disappointing compared with our past visits, and sadly we may need to find somewhere else next year.

We’ve usually stayed at Soul because it’s close to everything, but this place was a winner. Woolworths downstairs, clear views for people watching, a well designed layout and lifts that work. The designated car parks were a big plus too, since at Soul we had to search and search for a spot. Getting around was easy, and nothing was too much trouble for the friendliest reception staff we’ve come across. They gave us such a warm welcome and made the whole stay feel inviting. We’ll be staying here from now on. Wish we’d found it sooner!

That big balcony and the views were the best part of this level 19 apartment. It was a clean, very spacious three bed place, perfect for my hubby, our three teenagers and me. I’d guess it’s been recently updated, with oak floorboards and coastal salvaged decor.

The apartment felt like home, only with a much better view. We had a problem with the air con settings not getting cold enough, but the maintenance guy came the very next day and sorted it out. The concierge team was understanding and extremely helpful with what we needed, and the customer service was lovely. I’d highly recommend staying here for a holiday.
