It has a lovely, homey feel that's great for families. The location is beautiful, the stay was comfortable and affordable, and the host was easygoing, kind and very accommodating. We'll be back.

We took one look and left. The place seemed abandoned, with no staff, an overgrown front garden, no electricity and a door without its strike plate, so it wouldn't lock. The bedding didn't look worth checking closely either. This place is only fit for a low-budget horror movie now. A once-thriving business in a tourist town, brought down in a few easy steps: keep taking online bookings, leave the place empty and let it fall apart.

I'm not sure how this place has had good reviews, or any reviews, in the last six months when it's been mostly closed. Some guests who stayed over Grape Escape weekend reported horrifying conditions and jacked up prices. This venue is a blight on our community and badly needs new management.

The room and amenities were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There's a shared kitchen with dishes and utensils, a nice lounge area and an outdoor eating space. The location is great, next to a park with wildlife, with easy access to local shops and roads for exploring the Grampians.
