There’s lots of wildlife around Halls Gap, and the hiking trails are wonderful. On a clear night, the dark skies are great for night photos. Back at the accommodation, the room and bathroom were clean, and the bathroom was functional. The kitchen was fully equipped, so preparing meals was easy, and their food labelling and storage system worked well. There was plenty of room to relax indoors and out. The welcome was warm and there was lots of information to help make the most of a stay. Looking forward to coming back.

The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, and the space felt really cozy and beautiful, with all that greenery. I was also so impressed by their eco and sustainability efforts. This could be one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. 100% recommend it.

The place is quiet and comfortable, and there are lots of lovely spots around the grounds to unwind. The kitchens were clean, tidy and very well stocked. The rooms are bare basics and showing their age, but they were clean, and the venue itself is dated too. There are 10 rooms on the first floor, with two toilets and two showers per bathroom. I assume the top floor is set up the same way. Sound carries through the walls and doors, with very little soundproofing. Also, the beds are super low, futon style.

Mel and Rhiannon really went out of their way to make me comfortable. The hostel had clean facilities and a relaxed feel throughout, and it’s close to many trail heads in Halls Gap.

Kangaroos were right outside, and I loved having all those guides to the local area and walks. The lounge was a great spot, especially with the fire on. Friendly staff and fellow guests too. Good little hostel!
