Reflections Jimmys Beach - Holiday Park

I miss Jimmys already. We got home today and I want to go back. Other people can cover the facilities, which are all great, and the service was excellent. What stays with me is the feeling of the place: the beach, walks, township and sunsets. It’s an incredible place to stay.

Bennett's beach and Jimmy's beach were both an easy ten-minute walk away. I’d read reviews about bedroom storage in the Tiny House cabin, so the two of us packed only essentials, but there still wasn’t much room for what we brought. The hanging space was about the size of a broom cupboard, and it also held the broom and ironing board. The kitchen was good, with an upside-down refrigerator bigger than a mini fridge, its refrigerator section below the freezer. The toilet placement in the bathroom wasn’t great. Since I’ve recently had a hip replacement, there wasn’t much room to move between the toilet and basin. I’d asked for a clothes airer when booking and was told at check-in it would be in the cabin. It wasn’t there, and it didn’t arrive with the next day’s housekeeping as I’d been told. I contacted reception and was given one.

The campsites were clean and well kept, with a nice amount of space between them, and the campground is in a fantastic location. The amenities weren’t as clean as I expected, though I understand it was busy during school holidays. The toilets and showers were closed for cleaning at 8am, a peak time for campers. People ended up brushing their teeth in the camp kitchen and at taps on their sites. The cleaning times should be reviewed to better suit busy periods.

We loved the boom gate system for getting in and out, and the park was close to town and within walking distance of the beach. The safari tent was awesome and even had air conditioning. The amenities were great, and the place was very kid friendly, maybe too much so: kids riding around the pool and cabin area could have ended in tears. There should be a designated area for safety. Another sore point was that workmen turned up at 7:30am to work on some cabins, including ours, without reception giving us any warning at check-in the afternoon before.
