Discrimination! I called to book respite accommodation for an NDIS participant. I explained that my address was in Hervey Bay, the participant was from Maryborough, and the booking would be under my name for tax reasons. The policy says locals can't stay, but the woman said she could use her discretion. She only needed the details I'd already given her. Then she asked for my client's name, and I gave it without thinking. She went quiet and seemed to be doing something. When my client asked what was happening, the woman said she was checking for court matters or charges. She couldn't say whether that was legal when asked, and said she didn't do background checks on everyone. She then said local dealers and prostitutes come there, and she was basically checking we weren't the same. I'd explained the situation clearly, so there was no need to google anyone. This breaches privacy, anti discrimination laws and the human rights act. I've sent a complaint to the business email and haven't had a reply yet. I would never stay here in future. Be warned, they may google you if you stay.

I usually stay somewhere else when I'm in the Bay, but this will probably be my business choice from now on. My client booked this place, and I'm glad I trusted them. Management communicated and served us really well, and I was lucky enough to get upgraded to a villa. The accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable, with everything well appointed. The bed was so comfortable I was asleep before the Origin game ended! Great kitchen, spacious living areas, plus a garage and laundry. It really felt like a home away from home.

Only one star for Nicole, who was lovely at check in. I booked and paid months ahead for a family member, but when they called for the reference the day before, they were rudely told it had been cancelled and the place was fully booked. Freddie was dismissive and rude when I called, and seemed keen to wash his hands of the obvious double booking. He insisted booking.com had cancelled it and there was nothing he could do, but my booking was still confirmed and active on the site. After several calls and my request for a full refund, he said, 'fine have the room'. Freddie badly needs proper business management and customer service skills.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay in Number 9. Being on the second floor gave us water views and bay breezes, and it felt like we had the pool to ourselves. The complex, including the pool, was really well maintained, and the water was spotless and clear. The apartment was clean, with everything needed for light meals, and the bed and bathroom were extremely comfortable. Perfectly located if you're heading to K’gari from the marina. We'll definitely stay again.
