The ensuite room was affordable, lovely and clean for our two-night tourist stay in Hobart last week. The owners, Tildy and Neil, were about as friendly as anyone could be. Booking directly helps them recover the fee they’d otherwise lose online.

If you enjoy old-fashioned charm, you’ll love this hotel. It feels like another time, but it’s very clean and comfortable, with excellent hosts. Make sure to have breakfast there. The dining room was the most comfortable setting I’ve seen in a long time, and I hated leaving. Thanks to everyone who makes the place what it is. I’ll stay again, especially since it’s a lot cheaper than the artificial places around town.

We stayed twice in April and loved the hotel lounge and dining area, decorated with such vintage flair. It was clean, warm and comfortable, and great value for money. The owners run the place and are so warm and friendly. Tildy is trying to keep the accommodation affordable, so book directly by phone to avoid booking fees and help them out.

Tildy and Neil made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, they’re warm, funny and love a chat. We spent two lovely nights at the Astor Hotel, and it’s become our Hobart home away from home. The Art Deco building is beautiful and full of character, and inside everything was spotless, neat and comfortable. It’s right in central Hobart, with plenty of good cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. I’d suggest calling or emailing to book directly. We left feeling relaxed, and really appreciated the stay.
