Lily Lagoon Resort

We saw the most amazing sunset at the resort. There were friendly lizards in our room, but the stay was great overall. The pool was super warm, if that’s what you like.

The resort pool was clean and refreshing, and the locked gate at night made us feel safe and secure. It’s a great place to stay in Kununurra, with good-sized sites. The amenities are old and need a refurb. We paid $55 per night for power and water for two people.

We felt the room was overpriced, but the surroundings were pleasant, backing onto a lagoon, and the resort has a restaurant that looked impressive, though we didn’t try it. We stayed three nights in the second week of July 2025. Both rooms were clean, fairly new-looking and well maintained, with fresh-feeling bed linen. We were first given queen room No. 43 and later upgraded to king room no 18. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. For more than one night, I’d recommend booking the roughly 40 sq. m. king room rather than the smaller queen, as it has more facilities, including a desk and chair, microwave and wardrobe. There was also a dining table with two chairs outside, which we brought into the cabin.

The bar, restaurant and pool area are great, and the location is beautiful, especially with a view over the lagoon. We stopped at Lily Lagoon twice while travelling to and from broome. Both times we had a functional powered site, and staff were super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. What lets the resort down is the bathrooms. The men's block was quite dirty, with mould in the tiles and dirty floors. I know the grounds are dusty, but a mop for guests to use after the toilets and showers might help.
