Best Western Cambridge Hotel Kununurra

The airport pickup was a real bonus. Call after booking and they’ll be there when your plane lands. The pool is a good size, with built-in seats and a table, and the rooms are modern and extremely clean. The bed was comfy as. I’ll be back for sure and recommend it to anyone visiting Kununurra.

I was there for two work nights. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the rooms were clean, tidy, nicely renovated, and had a big bed. When the bathroom light in my first room sizzled and went out, a staff member quickly moved me to another room and even brought me an umbrella in the rain. The restaurant looked lovely, but on my second night I went down for dinner and was told they had no tables because of an event. I’d been told at check-in I could get takeaway sent to my room, but they said they were too busy for that too and suggested I try the Kununurra Hotel. Meals were included in my work booking, so it was really disappointing not to be able to eat at the hotel. As a woman travelling alone, I couldn’t walk anywhere once it was getting dark. The Kununurra Hotel has a 3.9 star review, and when I drove past I saw lots of drunk people hanging around. I ended up getting takeaway from a petrol station. It’s a shame they couldn’t accommodate guests, even with takeaway, and that’s why I’ve rated it this way.

I had trouble with the air conditioning, which matters a lot to me because I’m menopausal 🙄. They sent a tradie straight away to check it and change the filters, but it still wasn’t working an hour later. Without any fuss, they upgraded me to a one bedroom suite with a pool side view and complimentary breakfast. The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond. My partner and I had an amazing stay at Best Western Cambridge Kununurra, and I decided to stay an extra night after my partner went home. They’re renovating, and once it’s finished this will be a beautiful place. We’ll definitely stay here every time we come to Kununurra. ❤️

The room was okay, but the details need more attention: there was used milk in the fridge and empty body wash bottles in the shower. The air conditioning is fixed at 21 degrees, which isn’t ideal for the Kimberley. We couldn’t use the pool because it was being treated with chemicals for reasons outside their control, but nobody let us know.
