Kyabram Country Motel

For budget accommodation, I’d give it four stars. It was clean, nice and well looked after, though I’ve stayed in better motels and hotels. At $145 for a queen and single bed, it felt quite expensive, since I could get an apartment for only a little more. Still, they’re doing a good job. It’s a long way from Quest or the other big chains.

A cozy place with a comfy bed, and only a five minute walk into town. The rooms were clean and it felt safe, neat and quiet during our few days there. They’d thought of useful things like a fridge, kettle, plates and iron. I’d happily stay again.

It was frustrating to find a big ute parked right in front of my room, leaving me no option but to park on the road. I had to go out to the street at midnight to get to my car, which felt unsafe, and there was no management around to discuss it with. At $155 per person per room, I’d expect basics like a toothbrush and toothpaste. I was really disappointed with the service and unhappy with the experience.

The rooms are lovely and clean, with lots of seating. The layout is well thought out, with space for a table and chairs to eat at as well as two armchairs.
