Limassol Motel

The room was filthy. There were dead cockroaches on the unvacuumed floor, dirty linen, and mould and what looked like urine stains on the mattresses under the sheets. I also found crusty dirty socks under the bed, food drips in the microwave, dust all through the aircon, and a fridge that hadn't been cleaned. There were bed bugs too. Thank the Lord we only had to stay one night. I wouldn't stay there again. And before you say my name isn't on the booking, my partner booked it under his name! Don't tell me it was the wrong motel like you apparently do to everyone who leaves a bad review. I have pictures proving what I'm saying. Take responsibility for your rooms. Absolute filth!

I was waiting for police as I wrote this. We booked two nights, and after my dog died on the 10th, I had her empty crate with me. I told the owner, who asked me to leave it by reception. That day I went to the vet to see my dead dog and arrange her cremation. Around 9pm, my friend asked reception for a towel because the others were wet after a day at the pool. The owner came to our door demanding to check the air conditioner, which doesn't work there. I asked if he could come back the next day after checkout. He started yelling that there was a dog in the room and he had video evidence. He didn't. I showed him a photo of my dead dog and the cremation items, but he kept telling us to leave. I asked for my bond back, and he said he'd return it. Once we left the room, he locked the reception door and refused to give it back after checking the room. There had never been a dog in there. He called police and said he was being threatened, though nobody threatened him. He stood at the exit so we couldn't leave and demanded to enter the bathroom while I was showering. He threatened us and said he'd take us to court, but I don't know what for. He'd had a huge fight with another tenant that morning, and after what happened with us, I don't think she was in the wrong. The rooms aren't the cleanest, there are bugs everywhere, and although the air conditioner turns on, the rooms stay hot all the time. The owner was rude, lied to police to get them there faster, intimidated us and kicked us out at 10pm over something he made up. He is still refusing to return my bond. Do not come to this motel. I'm disgusted and appalled; that man can't run a motel.

We ended up paying extra for another place on the second night after finding bed bugs at this Gold Coast motel. The first night, the kids spotted a dead one on the pillow, then we found live ones crawling around. It was too late to find somewhere else, so we had to stay. The next morning we told the manager, showed videos and even a live bug, and expected an apology and prompt action. Instead, he was rude, shouted, and asked, “Whats the guarantee these bed bugs were here ? You might have brought them with you.” He wouldn't take responsibility or listen, and made us hunt for a live bug to prove it, which we did. Even then, he said they needed to “run an investigation”. It's been over 10 days, and they still haven't refunded anything. The motel seems infested, and the staff showed no professionalism or accountability. Definitely do not recommend.

I had a terrible night and wouldn't recommend this room. It was filthy, with bed bugs on every bed and dirty mattresses. There was dust all over the walls and ceiling, dry spit on the small pillows, and makeup on the pillowcases. The owner said the marks were rust from the iron. I ended up sleeping in the chair by the table.
