The Grand Hotel Launceston

Paul made my stay especially memorable. He was attentive, professional and genuinely friendly, always ready to help, whether with local recommendations or the details of the stay. The rooms at the Grand Hotel Launceston were immaculate, with elegant but comfortable décor that mixed classic charm and modern style. I appreciated the modern appliances, including the smart TV and well-equipped kitchenette. From the moment I arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail stood out. Everything added up to a fantastic stay, and I’d highly recommend the hotel and return on my next visit.

The location worked so well for us: it’s a pleasant eight-minute walk into town, near the river for a stroll, and Hogs Breath was a hit with the kids for its curly fries and good steaks. The bakery on the next corner had great banana bread, and the coffee was the best we had on the trip. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, quaint and older in style but nicely renovated and very comfortable. We have asthma and allergies, and neither was set off here. Our room was spacious, and I had the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed and pillows were perfect for me. The kids had a separate room in the soundproof apartment, which was ideal. There’s no lift, but Josh at reception kindly carried all our bags upstairs and couldn’t have done more for us. We also liked the sitting room in the reception foyer, with its big faux-fur chairs and fireplace, which was great for photos. I’d stay again.

I spent six nights here on a business trip and would happily return. The room was a good size, with a comfortable couch, and the shower had great water pressure. It’s an easy walk to the CBD, and Luz, the hotel restaurant, is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff gave us the kindest welcome we’ve ever had, and took special care of us, including arranging a thoughtful surprise for my daughter’s birthday. The rooms were luxurious, balancing comfort and elegance, and every detail seemed looked after. We also loved the dining, with each meal exceeding our expectations. Our stay at The Grand Hotel Launceston left us with treasured memories and eager to come back.
