Lithgow Tourist and Van Park

After a full day of driving, I arrived at the park in the late afternoon and nearly missed the small office sign at the entrance. I turned left by mistake, then tried to turn back. A skinny blonde woman, who I assume was the manager, stopped me straight away and questioned me unnecessarily. I calmly explained that the office wasn’t obvious, the sun was in my eyes and I was at the end of a long travel day. She responded with disbelief and an accusatory attitude, as if she thought I had bad intentions. Her hostile, unwelcoming manner was completely inappropriate for someone dealing with customers. It left such a bad impression that I chose not to engage further. First impressions matter, and this one was thoroughly unpleasant.

The shops, restaurants, Zig Zag Railway and tourist information office are all close by, with plenty of local options to explore. We feel very comfortable here and this is our second time visiting Lithgow. It’s a lovely country town, and we’ll more than likely come back.

It’s such a peaceful, relaxing park. The amenities are a bit old, but they’re very clean and everything works. The staff are friendly and happy to help with anything. We highly recommend this caravan park for a visit to Lithgow.

Farmer Joe was the kids’ favourite part. The owner takes them for a walk around his farm, feeds the animals and keeps them entertained. They absolutely loved him.
