Longreach Motel

The proprietor gave me the impression he might be ready to retire and isn't enjoying the work anymore. Still, the staff were friendly and professional, and everything in the room worked. It was roomy, clean and comfortable, though a little dated, and the bathroom could use an update. They supplied what we needed to wash cutlery and crockery, apart from detergent. The quiet reverse-cycle aircon was welcome on a cold night and could stay on after bedtime. I also used the coin laundry, which wasn't expensive. We stayed one night in June 2020. The location is handy, about a block from the highway and close to shops, takeaways, cafes, and a lovely nature walk that runs for 2-3 blocks beside the highway into town.

It's been scorching in the Outback with summer coming on hard, so the cool, clean motel room was a real relief. Thank goodness for air-conditioned rooms in this heat! 😊👌

The lady running the motel was so friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room was clean. Right on the Main Street too, with everything close by. I'd definitely come back and recommend it.

I've been staying here regularly for two years and haven't had one problem. Ray and Carol are excellent hosts, and the place is clean and well looked after. Thanks!
