Leanda Lei - Lord Howe Island

The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the place has a friendly, relaxed feel. The shared recreation room has free Wi-Fi, though it doesn’t reach the accommodation rooms. There are cooking facilities in the rooms, plus brand new Weber barbecues, and you can hire bikes. A dinner shuttle runs to places around the island each day. It’s centrally located and away from the bird droppings down by the anchorage. The brewery next door has good pizzas and an outdoor area for dinner and drinks. Joys shop across the road is friendly and handy for supplies, including drinks. Lovely management and good facilities. Highly recommended.

We chose the tour and meal inclusions, which came with transport to and from the venues. Joy’s Shop and the Coral Cafe/Museum were an easy walk away, and umbrellas were available for wet weather. Our large studio and the onsite facilities were a pleasant surprise, as was Judy’s hospitality. She and her staff worked hard to keep things running smoothly and help us enjoy the island. The apartments sit on high ground in pretty gardens, giving the place a relaxing tropical feel. There were plenty of beach walks, swims, golf, snorkelling, and other water activities within easy reach of Leanda Lei. It’s a great spot in this tropical paradise, and we can’t wait to return.

Clean, spacious one-bedroom apartment with plenty of supplies. We could easily get to the beach, cafes, restaurants, and great hikes, and cycling made it easy to get around. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of everything. Thanks to Amy and the team for such a warm, lovely stay.

Everything was within an easy walk, and the location was quiet. The rooms were tidy and very clean, with a small kitchen that suited us perfectly. The gardens were immaculate, we heard no noise from neighbouring apartments, and the complimentary backpack came in handy and will come with us on future trips. Internet was good in the common area, and renting bikes for a day was useful. Judy picked us up at the airport, showed us around on the way in, and shared some good tips. We booked through Oxley Travel and had a wonderful stay at Leanda Lei. One thing to watch: Eastern Air, who were great, changed our flight, but Oxley Travel didn’t pass that along. It caused us no problem, but check directly with Eastern Air about whether your flight is on time. We’d highly recommend Leanda Lei and will stay again.
