Set between the bush and the river, Big 4 Low Head was just the peaceful reset I needed after a few draining days on the road. The camp kitchen was fully equipped, even with pots and pans, and the amenities were comfortable with hot showers. The managers were absolutely lovely, and I really can't fault the place. Georgetown and Low head are gorgeous too 😍 I'm usually more of a National Park campground person, but I sometimes book a caravan park to recharge. The good reviews and affordable rates drew me here, and I'd recommend it to friends. Whether you need a break from travelling, a comfortable stay somewhere beautiful, or a base for exploring North East Tassie for a few weeks, I'm sure you'll love it.

The owners were so friendly and helpful. We were due to arrive early, and because our site was free they let us check in and set up camp at 11am. That meant we could get settled before heading out for a day of riding. There are nice, flat grassy spots for tents, plus activities and room for kids to run around. Great caravan park!

Craig made our planned four day stay at Big 4 Low Head a real treat. We had three couples with three large vans on powered sites, and he went well beyond what we expected. When we asked about something nice to do for one of our party's birthday, he arranged a charter with Big Mumma through Tamar River & Bass Strait Charters. Skipper Paul and deckie Jane took us on a fantastic four hour trip through the Tamar River and Bass Strait. We saw seals playing, huge eagle nests and beautiful scenery, and stopped at Beauty Point pub for a little frothy. They brought out lovely platters and even a birthday cake. It was worth every penny, and split between the couples it was affordable. The park itself is clean and has excellent amenities. The six of us thought Craig was a top bloke. He even gave the birthday girl a gift, which was very kind, though don't expect him to do that every time, it comes out of his hard earned profit. If you're doing a lap from the big island or are Tasmanian like us, add this place to your itinerary. We can't recommend it more highly. Thanks again, Craig!

We had a great 4 days here. The Tamar views are spectacular, and it's easy to get to the bike track and fishing. The boys were big fans of the peddle cars. Craig, the owner, was friendly, helpful and knew the local area well. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and the facilities were clean and well serviced.

The location made this a great family stay, with the penguin tour, lighthouse and lovely beaches all nearby. The kids had plenty to do and especially enjoyed the go-karts. The owners were very friendly too. We had an ensuite powered site and liked it. The ensuite was roomy enough, with handy bench space. The one letdown was that the shower went cold after 4-5 uses. A better hot water system would make a big difference.
