Loma Cottages

A big thank you to Mr Hano, and I hope I’ve got the spelling right, for finding us a comfortable place to sleep instead of having to stay in our rented car. We were two Malaysian travelers with nowhere to turn, and Loma Cottages kindly helped us out late at night. That gave us a very special memory of our first and only night on Bruny Island. There really are good people around the corner 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 Our trouble started at the hotel we’d booked, forty something degree. We arrived around 9pm and called and WhatsApped about ten times, but got no answer about check-in. Another guest told us nobody was available after 8pm. After waiting about 90 minutes, we gave up and tried reaching someone another way. By luck, the number Google showed us was answered on our second call by Mr Hano at about 10:30pm. We may have misunderstood the local culture, though Booking.com said we could check in before 10:30pm. Thanks again for helping us, and thanks to forty over degree too 🙈

The cabin was new, very clean, well equipped and set in a magnificent spot with lots of wildlife. Communication with the managers was excellent, and thanks for all the information. The one downside was the bed: it was so hard that neither of us got much sleep. I’m 85kg and my wife is 65kg, pretty average weights. The pillows weren’t great either, one was very big and hard, the other very small.

Wallabies were everywhere, and the cottage was immaculate, amazingly clean and furnished with everything. Katrina was super nice, friendly and helpful. We spent two nights in the two-bedroom cottage and it was frigging amazing. Thanks for such lovely accommodation. I’d stay there again if I’m back on Bruny Island.

It’s been more than a year since our two-night stay, and we still remember it fondly. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. We brought our own food and had everything we needed to make a nice breakfast. The peaceful, beautiful surroundings made it a lovely place to relax, recharge and reset.
