Casa Nostra Motel Mackay

We spent three weeks at the motel and would happily come back. The location was handy for both Mackay city and the airport, and the Wi-Fi worked without any trouble. Even with people constantly arriving and leaving, it was quiet and there wasn't much disturbance. Our room was serviced, the pool was clean, and reception staff were friendly and efficient. A great stay.

The staff were pleasant and efficient, and it was easy to get to shops, places to eat, and other amenities. A simple, affordable place, and I enjoyed my stay.

I was there for six days of training, and the traffic noise was hard to escape. The motel sits right by the highway and about 1.5km from the airport runway, so both could be heard late into the night. The walls are thin too, and my neighbours weren't quiet. My room wasn't serviced during the stay, and there was no sign to hang on the door to request service. Plates and cutlery were in the drawers, but they had dead bugs on them. There was a bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, though no cooking facilities. The air conditioning needs cleaning as well. My sinuses suffered every night.

I was very happy with the stay, especially the cleanliness. I'm picky about that, and the room, bathroom and toilet were all clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable, and the room had a small fridge, microwave and air conditioning. It was quiet and close to basic amenities. We had to divert to Mackay Base Hospital after my son became unwell on our way to Gold Coast, with Rockhampton meant to be our next stop. I called the motel directly and, I believe, spoke with Mahesh. He was really helpful and arranged for us to pick up the keys around 9 pm. If they do a makeover in the future, a ceiling fan would be a nice addition.
