Discovery Parks - Mackay

We enjoyed staying in our caravan beside the wetlands, especially the birdlife and peaceful setting. The ensuite was clean and laid out well. There isn’t much shade around the park, since the palm trees don’t offer much cover, but the grass was green and well kept. We’ll stay again when we’re in Mackay.

Christmas Day was a lot of fun, with Santa driving around and tossing out presents. The staff were really nice. The park also held a Christmas decorating competition and said there’d be a prize, but the winners were never announced, so people put up all their lights for nothing. It’s a pretty park where kids can wander around and make friends, with lovely covered outdoor BBQ areas. The place is relaxed and doesn’t constantly check up on people or make a fuss about the rules. But the Wi-Fi was horrible, the slide stayed closed for our whole visit, and the main pool was hot.

The facilities were so clean and easy to get to, and the staff were absolutely amazing. We stayed with our two young kids, and I’m not sure which of us enjoyed the park more. It’s in an easy, convenient spot, and the kids already want to come back. Thanks for making the stay so enjoyable. I’ll be recommending it to friends and family.

After a terrible week, we arrived at the park early, and Jayde’s service made a huge difference. She arranged a backup cabin in case our van took longer to repair and helped me feel much calmer. I really appreciated it. Our site was mowed and clean, and there were plenty of facilities for kids. Thank you.
