Hotel Mackay

We went to a friend’s party, mostly out in the rear garden. Drinks came quickly, were cold and well priced, and the service was friendly. The host arranged the food through the hotel kitchen: the pizzas were really good, as were the Asian-style spring rolls and similar platter items. It’s relaxed but lively enough to feel like a proper night out. We’ll be back.

We dropped in for tea and found a lovely little hidden gem. It was clean, and the food was fantastic. The new chef was amazing and friendly. Travis was on in the bar, welcoming and good at recommending meals. Tuesday has a buy-one-main-get-the-second-free deal, and kids eat free on Saturdays. Definitely worth dropping in for a meal.

The food is great, with something for everyone, and the pizzas are yummy. I had a nice steak at lunch for $14, which was a great price. The surroundings are relaxed, it’s handy to amenities, and both the staff and patrons are good. I’m heading to Langfords for dinner later, where the daily specials are only $10. The special is Roast Turkey.

The whole place is spacious, clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly and professional. Other customers are happy to chat with a stranger, too. And unlimited free pool tables? That’s an automatic five stars from me.
