The bathroom tap kept leaking and wouldn’t turn off, and the sheets were bizarrely too small for the bed. When I lifted the top sheet, the one underneath only came up to my knees. There was rust everywhere, and the tiles were cracked and loose. The place had an old smell as soon as I walked in, which lingered unless the air conditioning stayed on constantly. The Wi-Fi was unusable, and it made the TV glitchy and slow too, so none of the apps worked and I could only watch free-to-air. Not a good experience.

The staff were always kind and helpful when I had questions, and I was very satisfied with my stay. It’s within walking distance of Blue Lagoon pool and Caneland Shopping Centre, and having a dedicated parking space was really convenient. My room was clean. The swimming pool and BBQ area were easy to use and made the stay even more enjoyable.

We’d driven for 15 hours and arrived to find our room hadn’t been cleaned. The bed was unmade, there was underwear in the bathroom, and rubbish on the floor. This simply shouldn’t happen. I understand it was a mistake, but they had no spare rooms and couldn’t get the cleaner in. After we’d waited 20 minutes with our two sleepy children, the receptionist tried to clean it, which was kind, but we couldn’t accept that. Luckily, we found another motel and got in at 8 pm. We received a full refund the next day, as we should have. I hope this review leads to better communication with the cleaner and a check that rooms are ready before guests arrive. It doesn’t take long and could prevent this happening again.

The place has a cozy, friendly feel, and I was comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to help with every request. Their kindness made a real difference and gave the stay a personal touch. I’d absolutely come back, and recommend this motel to anyone wanting a pleasant, warm place to stay.
