The food looked fantastic and tasted even better, though service took a little longer than on earlier visits. After a few months away, our usual trio went back for our monthly Thursday dinner on Thursday 12Feb to see the new menu, dishes, and prices. There were more choices, and we wondered if the kitchen staff had changed. I've read some of the other reviews here, but based on the many dinners I've had, I think they're unjustified. I'll keep coming and have recommended the place to friends and family. What do they say about opinions?

The restaurant was freezing, and it was empty on a Friday night. After two recent dinners with dry, tasteless, below-average food, we're going to find a new local. We often used to come here for dinner and drinks. Going out should mean getting a tasty meal without having to cook it yourself. I politely gave the manager feedback, but he didn't seem interested and said I wasn't the first to complain about the food.

This is about dining, not accommodation. By the time an overcooked chicken schnitzel arrived after 40 minutes today, I'd already finished my overpriced pint of James Squire Ginger Beer, which cost more than $16. Another drink might have helped wash down the dry, crunchy chicken, but not at that price.

We didn't even try to finish the meal. We just left, and all I could taste and smell was pee. The bathroom stank of old urine so badly I walked straight back out, and I nearly vomited despite having a strong stomach. The food was atrocious too. The extra vegetables were old and soggy, and grey, even the corn had lost its colour. The chicken snitty was yellow and tasted horrible. They charge extra for mash and veg, but maybe they should mention that the mash is powdered. The chef couldn't even be bothered to make it taste good. Honestly, this place is terrible and should be shut down. Filthy truck stops have better toilets and food than this pub.
