City Edge Dandenong Apartment Hotel

The room was awful, and our car door ended up dented. We had to park in front of the hotel because the free parking spaces were very limited, and one or two were blocked by debris so larger vehicles couldn’t fit. The next morning, someone appeared to have tried prying open our car door. Check-in was meant to be at 3 PM, but we were told the room wasn’t clean and we’d have to wait until 5 PM. Once inside, there was a strong urine smell that even disinfectant couldn’t cover. The floor was unbelievably dirty, with hair everywhere and white, cat-hair-like marks on the sofa. It looked nothing like the photos online. This is the dirtiest, smelliest hotel I’ve stayed in, and I’d never recommend it.

I had high hopes from the photos, but the stay was deeply disappointing from start to finish. The lobby was shabby compared with the advert, and the front desk staff were dismissive, as though checking me in was a favor. When I raised an issue, the front desk showed no apology and seemed more focused on arguing with me than fixing it. I had to insist on a refund, then checked into another hotel right away. There’s zero service. The man at the reception desk on 15/11/2025 was rude and unprofessional, acting like the boss and seeming not to know his work. The room wasn’t clean, and when I asked for something extra like a towel, I was told I had to pay. Parking also costs extra. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid it unless you want to take unwanted “souvenirs” home. I wish I could give zero stars.

On the second night, we found small cockroaches all over the room, even in the fridge. The room was dirty, and several things didn’t work, including the remote and TV. There wasn’t enough hot water for four people in a room meant for four. We were offered another room, but that also didn’t have enough hot water, so we were offered yet another. I asked for a refund and moved to a nearby hotel. The photos don’t match what it looks like. It’s old and dirty, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Don’t waste your money or time.
