Lotus Lodges

There was no storage in the cramped bedroom, and the bed was narrow and noisy. The room also smelled damp, apparently from water damage in the bathroom. In the kitchen, neither the stove exhaust fan nor its light worked. The TV wouldn’t pick up HD, so most stations didn’t work, and there was no smart media or streaming option.

The bed was softer than we like, though that’s just personal preference and not a complaint about Lotus Lodges. We had a lovely stay in the cottage on Mt. Dandenong, with a fantastic room and a lovely spa bath. My fiancé and I came from Brisbane for a little getaway before heading back to Queensland, and I’d 100% recommend it for a romantic weekend.

Our little old fur baby was in bliss here, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The original hills cabin is so charming and cute, set in the forest, and thoughtfully fitted out. Lovely spa bath, fireplace, cosy bedroom and lounge, plus a full kitchen. Just the place to rest and recharge. 🌻

We stayed at these cottages in July 2022 and left the genuine review below. The cottage was OK for the money, and I only reviewed it because of how appallingly we were treated. A simple apology and refund of $50 would have fixed it. Instead, in July this year, two years later, I started getting emails from Chris Harper of Yarra Ranges Accommodation threatening a "$1,000 Collection and Remedy" fee unless I removed my review. In October 2024 I received a letter of demand from Meridian Lawyers of Sydney. This is a disgusting effort to intimidate me and suppress genuine feedback, so I’m back here again. I can provide details to substantiate this to anyone interested. Make up your own mind about dealing with this mob. The cottages are cosy and OK for the price, but don’t expect customer service if something isn’t as expected, and bring your own firewood. We paid an extra $50 for supplied firewood. It was expensive, but convenient since we were holidaying from overseas. All we found were about half a dozen old logs left by previous visitors. When we asked for a refund, we got an argument and were told it was our problem. That left us feeling negative about the stay.
