Mono Two on Flinders Street

The whole setup felt strange and uncomfortable. The rooms are small and a bit run down, and don’t feel worth the price or location. There’s no reception, so you have to call for someone to come down and let you in. They weren’t friendly, showed me the room, handed over a physical key, then disappeared. If you forget to lock the door at night or behind you during the day, it can be opened. To check out, you text them and leave the key on the coffee table. The floor towel was draped over the toilet, and the sink was just... aggressive.

Apartment 707 had a lot of cleanliness problems: hair ties on the floor, dust along the walls, colored hairs on the sofa, mold in the bathroom, and specks of poop on the toilet brush. The bedding was a used flat sheet, and it took an hour for the heater to work. I wish I could attach photos, but Booking.com didn’t include the ones I uploaded. The manager, Darick, did let us stay until 11am, and the location is within walking distance of ACMI and a tram stop. Those were the good parts.

I felt at home as soon as I arrived for my one-night stay. The apartment was peaceful and quiet, clean, cozy, and nicely decorated, with everything I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Host Dennis was accommodating and made sure I had what I needed. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and I’ll definitely return when I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

The location was the only good part. The shower leaked across the bathroom floor, there was mold in it, dust everywhere, a dirty toilet brush, and a broken towel paper holder. We also weren’t allowed out on the balcony or to use the stairs, and no one showed us where the stairs were in case of an emergency. There’s no reception, so we had to text whenever we arrived or needed someone to let us down to the car. Communication was lacking, and customer service was very rude. I don’t recommend staying here.
