Fitzroy Inn Historic Retreat

It’s only about 5 minutes from Mittagong town, but this historic inn sits in a residential area and you wouldn’t know it once you’re on site. There are large gardens and plenty of reception rooms and spots to relax. Even with quite a few people staying, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The rooms are large and well kept, with good tea and coffee in the room and reception area, and complimentary WiFi that worked well. Breakfast is included and was nice and satisfying. There’s plenty of parking behind the main house, plus two EV chargers, one of them Tesla.

We loved it here with our dogs. I haven’t stayed at a more dog-friendly hotel in Australia. Our apartment was pristine, with a comfy bed and two widescreen TVs. The gardens were beautifully kept and such a joy to wander through with the dog. The historical house tour was fascinating too.

Apartment #5 was perfect for our small family and dog. It’s a newer apartment, and the beds and room were comfortable, with a lovely bathroom and two TVs. The location was okay, not far from town or Bowral. It was very quiet when we were there, with no one about.

We held our wedding recovery event at the historic Fitzroy Inn, and it was just right. The setting looked stunning, and the furniture, food and drinks were all arranged with so much attention to detail. Everything was styled beautifully, making the day feel relaxed and memorable. The team went above and beyond to keep things running smoothly, and our guests had lots of praise for them. We couldn’t recommend the Fitzroy Inn highly enough as a place to carry on the celebrations.
