Blue Lake Motel

The location at Blue Lake Motel was convenient, and the room was average in cleanliness, not too bad but could be better. Our stay was otherwise good, though the customer service disappointed me. We asked to check in just one hour early and were told it would cost $30, despite the full-day room rate being $110. That felt unreasonable. There weren’t any complimentary water bottles in the room either, which seems like a basic amenity. Better service and attention to small details would improve the experience.

The owner really came through for us after our bike broke down on the way. We’d booked a room and called to ask about moving it to the next day, but they were full. He said he’d see what he could do, then called back with a place for us in the apartment he keeps for family and friends. There was no extra charge or cancellation fee. The room and bathroom were clean and really nice, and it’s a quiet spot within walking distance of The South Eastern, which he recommended and which was fantastic. That kind of service was well above what you’d expect. We’ll be back.

Amit was very helpful, and the recently renovated bathroom was a nice touch. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and had everything I needed, including a quiet night’s sleep. Good value for money. Thanks, I’ll be back, hopefully with a few adventure bike riders.
