The room was nice, and the view was great, but Alfie the border collie was the real highlight. He greeted us and actually showed us to our room, then came to welcome us again when we got back that night and didn't want to leave. In the morning he led us to the verandah for breakfast with sensational views. The retreat is beautifully set in the hinterland, though Google Maps sent us the wrong way. If you love dogs, Innistaigh retreat is for you.

We work from our room when we stay here, and spend time visiting the lovely places around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We come back every year after our conference in Brisbane because Helen and Doug always make us feel welcome, and the location is stunning. It's our favourite place, and we're always sad when it's time to leave. We love Innistaigh.

The buffet breakfast on the outside verandah, looking out over the mountains, was delightful. When I stayed here in 2019, they went out of their way to make sure we were happy, even upgrading us to a unit that cost more than we had paid. They did that to help with my anxiety about staying in their house, as I'm shy. They were friendly, and she is a counsellor who let me talk about my problems at home. The one downside was that takeaway dinners wouldn't be delivered to the house, so we had to go into town to pick them up.

The setting was perfect, with an awesome location and an amazing breakfast. We loved chatting and sharing a few laughs with the lovely hosts over breakfast. Such a lovely place to stay, and we'd definitely recommend it to others.

Doug and Helen are lovely people, and we loved visiting Innerstaigh for the day. Its location is perfect for a special place to stay in the Glass House Mountains. We'll be back soon.
