The Terraces Mudgee

It’s an easy, short walk into town, where there are heaps of restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Perry Street Hotel in Mudgee was an absolute treat, with a great location and so many thoughtful touches to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

We booked five days and four nights at one of the Peppertree Terraces and enjoyed every minute. The apartment was really spacious and had everything we needed. We especially liked having a cheeseboard and knives to enjoy the wine and cheese we picked up on our cellar door tours. Everything in town was within walking distance, which made it so convenient for visiting Mudgee. Our stay was just about perfect, and I’m sorry I didn’t get a photo of the place.

Undercover parking was excellent, and we liked having air conditioning in the hot weather. The unit was very clean and spacious, close to shops, Coles, pubs and restaurants. With solid walls and high ceilings it was also very quiet. The bed felt a bit hard to me, though my husband loved it. There isn’t really space to sit outside, but we were mostly out and about visiting the nearby wineries. The complimentary chips and minties were a nice welcome.

We stayed a lovely week in unit 2. It has ornate old world charm with modern touches, and the welcome treats and Salus bathroom products were lovely. The place was very clean. The town location is perfect, so there is some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother us, and with all units full we still had no noise issues between units. A few things kept it from five stars: the lounge air conditioning wasn’t strong enough to cool the bedroom, and the bedroom fan didn’t feel cool enough in the humidity. The clean bed linen was very thin and poor quality, which made for a warmer sleep. At checkout, the door code changed at 9:45 even though checkout was 10, leaving my husband locked out while loading the car. We’ll return and stay again.
