Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort

The room was roomy, but badly dated, with a strong bathroom smell like dirty mop water mixed with bleach. We had to open the windows and leave it to air out. Shower pressure was very low, and the only toiletries were a cheap all-in-one shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The joined singles offered as a large double had no topper or comforter, leaving a very uncomfortable hard ridge in the middle. Check-in also felt awkward. They asked for my card in case I damaged the room, then gave us one key for two people. When I requested another, I was told they normally only provide one for a one-night stay. I got a second after insisting, with a warning that an unreturned card would cost $20. Later I found an ironing board but no iron, and a note on the cupboard said to ask reception for one. Another needless hassle. This place unfortunately feels no better than a basic two-star motel. The whole stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The two golf days were amazing, with picture-perfect holes on both courses. We also loved our clean, newly renovated room backing onto the course, and the staff were welcoming from check-in through the restaurant. We ate there the first night and the meals were amazing. I had the Murray Cod, just perfect. We should have gone back the second night too, after an average meal in town. The service from the restaurant team and other staff was impeccable. We booked two nights with my son and two rounds of golf, and loved every bit of it. Highly recommend for golfers or anyone after a great meal. Can't wait to return, again and again.

The rooms were simple but really nice, and the food was excellent. Had a great time in Yarrawonga, the club and golf course are really good. A lovely place to visit.

We were disappointed with how the meal service went for our table of four. Although we ordered entrées and mains together, one entrée came first and the other after a clear wait. Two mains arrived before we'd finished either entrée, while the other two took about twenty minutes more. Our friends had to start eating and were nearly done before ours reached us. The sauce mix-up was especially concerning. I ordered rib eye with mushroom sauce because I have a pepper allergy, and my husband ordered green pepper sauce. We were served each other's sauces. I recognized the peppercorn sauce after one bite, and it could have caused a dangerous allergic reaction. After the meal, we raised this with Vanessa, who said she was the manager. Her abrupt, condescending response left us extremely dissatisfied. Rather than acknowledge the problems, she blamed us for not saying we wanted to eat together. We were at the same table, ordered together, and were clearly dining as a group, so that felt unreasonable and dismissive. I wanted to bring this to management's attention, especially the allergy care, communication, and customer service. We look forward to a response and an appropriate resolution.
