Stringybark Hills Retreat

It was a lovely, quiet spot for a getaway with your significant other, and I’ll definitely come back. The spa wasn’t available, which was understandable given the lack of water. Warrawong is right next door, and we fed the emus and roos every morning.

The Iris room had its own entrance, chairs, a table, tea and coffee, a TV and a large bathroom. It was beautifully set up, and breakfast was generous. There’s also a shared lounge and dining area if you need it. The hosts were friendly and helpful without hovering. Books, games and even a massage chair were provided. It’s just outside Mylor in the Adelaide Hills, a handy base for day trips. Hahndorf is less than 20mins away by car. The other room has a spa bath looking out over Stringybark trees and the valley. Next door is a Wildlife sanctuary, and you can hear and see some of its residents along the shared fence: emu, koala, dingo, wallaby, kookaburras and parrots. There wasn’t much human noise.

We had the place to ourselves and loved the peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to everyone. 10/10. Stephen and Maria.

We paid, drove off to Harndorf for a better, more positive experience, and were absolutely disgusted by our first impression. The PIN code wouldn’t let us in. When I rang, I was told someone would be there. Keep our hard earned money. Shame on you all. How would I rate the experience? Less than
