The Cubana Resort Nambucca Heads

We spent ten days at The Cubana Resort in January 2026 with extended family. The staff looked after us very well and were friendly. We enjoyed the restaurant dinners, which had a Mexican influence and a lovely family atmosphere. They happily sorted good quality kid friendly food for our fussy grandchildren. The continental breakfast was terrific and great value too. It was nice having somewhere outside our room to sit together, and the in-room fridge was a bonus. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay for good value, and would consider returning.

The gardens around the park are looking great, and there’s clearly been a lot spent on the paintwork and restaurant area. It was a nice touch that they were happy to have pets stay. The cocktail list looked great, but they were only serving two of the six listed. Breakfast could use a few croissants, Danish pastries, or similar, and the dinner menu might benefit from a few more options. I’d try to make it a more functional restaurant that draws people in from around Nambucca.

The property sits on five acres and is kept in immaculate shape, from the grounds to the rooms and facilities. The standard is far higher than I’d expect at this price. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with strong air conditioning and great water pressure. It’s pet friendly, which made the stay feel relaxed from the start. The Mexican inspired restaurant on site was a highlight, with excellent food and a genuinely great margarita. The reception and restaurant staff were both warm, friendly, and helpful. I can’t fault this place. I’d happily return.

We stayed a few nights for a wedding and loved the motel. The rooms were large, clean, and cutely decorated. The pool was lovely, and breakfast was included and nice. We’d never been before, but have already booked another visit for later this year!
