Charmaine, the manager, deserves a special shout-out for running trivia and taking care of everything else. Amazing work! We had a fantastic time and definitely plan to return. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and reasonably priced, and the staff were great and friendly. It’s a fantastic place for a meal or a drink.

We’re seb and Andre, and our wedding day hasn’t arrived yet, but we really feel we’ve chosen our dream venue. At our recent wedding food tasting, everything was delicious, the portions were generous and the presentation was beautiful. It honestly went beyond what we expected. The staff were attentive throughout, and the manager was amazing. She answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable and reassured that the day will be wonderful. We couldn’t be happier with our choice 🤍✨

The gnocchi was soft and tasty, and the 3 steak was juicy, tender and cooked just right. We waited about 25 minutes, but it was well worth it. I’d definitely come back. Highly recommend!

The regular menu is priced really well, and there are awesome specials throughout the week. With Sprout dining upstairs turning out masterpieces, it’s hard to pass up. No other pub can compete with the fine dining and meal quality here. C&A will be getting my money more often. 10/10

I travel to Newcastle regularly for work and like to try different food spots. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, and I try not to judge by appearances, but this was one of the worst pub experiences I’ve had. I wish I’d trusted my first instinct. The food was extremely disappointing. The hot oysters were smothered in tomato and BBQ sauce and bacon, to the point they were inedible. The steak was underwhelming for $45, and the Diane sauce tasted artificial, almost chemical. It took around 40 minutes for the food to arrive, and I left genuinely concerned about the quality. The place looked reasonably presentable from outside, but inside there was a strong carpet odour that made things worse. If you’re visiting from out of town and staying nearby, I’d suggest walking a little further to find somewhere else to eat or sticking with your hotel restaurant. I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but I feel it’s fair to warn other travellers.
