The restaurant downstairs was busy most of the time, and I can see why: the food was delicious, the menu very good, and prices reasonable. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean, though the public areas showed their age a little. Renovations were underway, so I wasn’t concerned. The staff were polite and happy to help, and the location was quite central and easy to get to. I stayed at the Black Buffalo in November and was very happy with the experience. I’ll be back, and I’ve told my friends. Thanks, BB.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place and will definitely return. Our room was serviced on Saturday, which you don’t always get, and when the restaurant was fully booked they delivered a meal to our room. The area felt quiet and safe, the rooms were tidy and clean, and it was really good value for money.

The accommodation was great value, and I’d stay here again, but I’d eat somewhere else. We waited over an hour for burgers and a chicken korma, and the food was ordinary. Staff, including the manager, didn’t offer any apology. Probably the worst dining experience we’ve had in Hobart.

We weren’t staying there, but ate dinner twice during our Hobart visit. Both times the food was excellent and nicely presented, and the service was good. Prices were very good too. We both chose from the senior menu, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived, and I enjoyed the food and very friendly service at the restaurant on several visits. I had a wonderful few days in Hobart. My room was large and basic, but had everything I needed. One small gripe: the curtains let in quite a bit of sun, and the kettle in my room was rusty.
