Hotel Allen

The staff were super friendly and we really liked the location, but the room needs updating. The carpet had holes and burns, and the wall needed a fresh coat of paint. It was also pretty loud at night, with people sitting outside our room talking and playing music. For the price, I don’t think it’s worth staying here.

Carole at reception was fantastic, 10/5 for her service. The rooms are a good size, but they’re quite dated and could use some TLC. For the price, it wasn’t enough to make me complain. Fine for a night if you’re just passing through.

The hotel is a bit old, so I didn’t expect much. The room was clean, the sheets were soft, and I slept like a baby. Staff were lovely and helpful, and the price was fair. 5/5.

When we asked about getting the suite we’d booked, reception said everything else was taken. We’d reserved it a long time ago, but the place we got was nothing like the photos or description. It was meant to have a fully equipped kitchen, but all we had was a kettle and fridge. We’d bought food to cook for dinner and had to throw it out the next morning, since we couldn’t cook it and had to leave early with no fridge in the car. They said a refund would only be possible if we moved out, which we couldn’t do with no time to find somewhere else at short notice and the extra cost. The suite was disgusting and old. There were gaps between the wall and the AC, which dripped rust onto the walls. Some balconies were screwed shut with metal plates, and other balcony doors had no lock or handle, so we couldn’t lock them. The walls were filthy. Sheets had been screwed over holes or something, the bottom of the fridge cabinet was rotten, and the ceiling and walls had mismatched paint patches. One balcony door was covered in plastic wrap and looked awful. There was a hole in a bedroom door, and beds in one bedroom blocked access to the big closet. The old AC had cut wires too. This was a completely different suite from the one pictured. Honestly, the hotel should be shut down until it’s renovated.
