Even booking at the last minute as international travellers was easy, with online check-in and the reservation details coming through smoothly. We got a glamping tent, and it felt surprisingly luxurious: it had AC and a private bathroom with a shower. They’d also thought of the little things, with tea, water, cutlery and dishes provided. Such a fun stay. The woman on the phone was really easygoing, too. I’d happily recommend it.

Michelle and Malcom made us feel so welcome, and Michelle was a huge help every time. The kids even had a water fight with her after she encouraged them to join in, which really surprised us. And Monster was such a cutie, the kids absolutely loved him! We’ve stayed at Mingling Waters since New Year’s Day, and as I write this just after midnight, I’m still by the firepit. We’re checking out tomorrow and have booked Lot 12 for camping. The spot was as peaceful as we expected and the location is extraordinary. We visited last year too, and this stay made me feel I had to leave a review. Thanks so much, we’ll definitely book again, hopefully for longer.

The wetlands walk is lovely, the location is beautiful, and the staff were very helpful. We were glad to move to site 5 after our first allocated spot turned out to be in full sun. Finding Mingling Waters was a challenge, though, with no signs to the very small caravan park, and once there, the online-only setup left us unsure which site was ours. Site 34 is lower down and nearer the river, so maybe that would have suited us better. The peaceful stay we’d hoped for was spoiled by the neighbours across the way. Their ride-on mowing went on for about two hours, then there was an hour of trail bikes, quad bikes, and pressure washing the mower. The next day brought another two hours of mowing and the same afternoon noises. It’s a shame for Mingling Waters’ management to have the business affected by this. A new toilet block is badly needed; use the one by the bistro if you stay. Friday night’s music at the bistro was great and the food was really good. I thought the noise might be over around 7 pm, but they started up again. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

The restored old buildings give the place a lot of character, and there’s easy access to the wetlands walk and kids’ playground. We found the sites big and flat, the camp kitchen very well stocked, and the outdoor dining area lovely. What a little cracker of a campsite. We’d definitely come back. The bistro was closed during our stay, so I can’t comment on it.

This is about the campground, not a hotel or restaurant. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere is generally pleasant, but cleanliness and maintenance let it down during our stay. The outdoor kitchen was rather dirty, the laundry area looked neglected, one machine was full of water, and the other seemed to be in use and hadn’t been emptied. Water also drained very slowly in the upper bathroom while showering. The pizza oven and billiard table were both out of order, which was a shame. The interaction the next morning was the biggest disappointment. When we emptied our wastewater, we were abruptly told not to let out too much water. We would have appreciated a friendlier, more understanding response. It’s a campground with a nice setting and potential, but cleanliness, upkeep and communication with guests need improvement.
