Alivio Tourist Park Canberra

The accommodation was nice and roomy, with different options for different budgets. Parking can be tricky, though, so if you have a big car, I’d mention it to them. The pool area is great, and the restaurant is nicely set up. We couldn’t eat there because of allergies, but it looked like a pleasant spot for people who can. There’s lovely wildlife around, and it’s easy to get to things nearby. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The maintenance and housekeeping team were a letdown: they drove much too fast or left their vans in the middle of the road, so you’d be stuck waiting. One older man with a shaved head was grumbling at a coworker as we walked past, then sped around a corner, slammed on his brakes, and tooted at us while we were just walking to the pool. He was the one who’d made the mistake and got a fright. It was pretty disappointing.

The parrots came right up to us, hoping for food, and the birds were very tame. We gave them some birdseed. There are also cabins if you don’t want to stay in a caravan. We spent three nights at the Alivio campground in O’Connor, a suburb of Canberra. The caravans were close together, but having ensuite facilities for caravans was great. We ate well at the restaurant and bar in the main building, including a mocktail, oysters, and a lovely steak cooked just right. There were barbecues too, and the facilities for cooking your own food were great. With the pool and activity areas, including a half basketball court, there was plenty to do. It’s a great place to stay while visiting Canberra.

There’s plenty for kids to do here, and Questacon, The war memorial, and Canberra CBD are only a short drive away. The park and rooms were clean and tidy, and all the rooms had air conditioning. Staff were friendly, the dinner menu was good, and the buffet breakfast was awesome. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you!

We stayed four nights and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The cabin had plenty of room and everything we needed, and the beds were really comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing seemed like too much trouble. It’s close to everything in Canberra, and having the restaurant there was extremely convenient. There’s a good pizza menu, and all our meals were filling and tasty. The pool area looked very inviting, though the weather wasn’t warm enough for me to use it. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone after comfort and convenience.
