Coranda Lodge

We left after one night, hugely disappointed. I paid for two nights, but would rather lose the money than stay any longer. The place was filthy, with spiders and cobwebs inside and out, plus an empty beer bottle in the back garden. The washing machine was full of gunk and unusable. It didn’t feel private either: both units are attached to the main family house, and we could hear the guy next door on his phone. There was a cracked drinking glass and chipped bowls. We found bed bugs about 5mm long, so they must have been there a while, and a white tail spider in the curtain. Worst of all, both my children got electrical shocks from the shower. When my husband raised everything with the owner, he blamed an "old lady" cleaner who wouldn’t be working there anymore. He said he already knew about the shocks but Western Power couldn’t fix it, and suggested we stand outside the shower while turning the taps on and off to avoid them. I’ve since reported this to Western Power. I offered to clean the unit because I felt stuck there, but he told me not to and offered no alternative. He said he’d come and apologise about the condition of the place, but he never did, so we packed up and left the next day. Also, if you think you’re getting a private pool, it’s actually his family’s pool, and you may be swimming while they eat dinner. Horse riders woke us early too. Not the relaxing holiday I expected.

Corando Lodge felt like a home away from home, with lovely rooms and a picturesque property. The countryside around it is so beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil. Being able to bring my horse is part of what makes this place everything I dream of. Thank you, Tony & Carolyn. ..☆

Took my daughter for her first pony ride, and it was perfect for a 5yo. Sally the pony was calm and friendly, and the staff were great. Lovely location and surroundings too. We’d go again.
