Holiday Inn Burswood

I’ve stayed at hotels across Australia and around the world, and I’ve never had an experience like this. Reception, the porters and management were blunt and abrupt, with no real customer service or sense that they cared. I checked in online to make things easier, but when I arrived, the receptionist just asked my name and handed me an envelope without telling me where to go. When I asked, I got a point in a direction and no other help. I wasn’t allowed to take my own bags to the room, and they also refused to let me bring my takeaway mid-strength beer upstairs, saying guests couldn’t bring their own drinks. It felt like the rule was there to push people into paying the very expensive minibar prices. The room wasn’t spacious at all, and the bathroom was small and not functional. A really disappointing stay. I don’t normally write reviews, but I wanted to warn others. Never again. A big no from me.

Jaqueline made our first anniversary stay at Crown Promenade Perth especially memorable. She upgraded us to a room near the top floor with a lovely view of Optus Stadium, and had wine and chocolates waiting for us. The staff greeted us warmly and helped with our luggage. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a small fridge and a big TV. We also enjoyed the pool, even though it’s quite small, and the breakfast was fantastic. The roast beef stood out, along with the many other choices. We really appreciate Jaqueline’s thoughtful service and would happily book here again and recommend it to family and friends.

We had a brilliant night at Crown promenade, eating, drinking and having fun at the casino. The room was lovely and all the staff were so nice. For our anniversary they gave us chocolates and sparkling wine, such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The Crown complex is amazing. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The bed was comfortable, and the location is perfect for exploring everything Crown has to offer. But our anniversary booking left me underwhelmed. Check-in took much longer than usual, and nobody asked why we were staying or how our day was going. I was surprised there was no complimentary water in the room, since that feels like a basic hotel offering. I probably wouldn’t book here again.
