A friendly, laid-back place with the feel of an old country-town pub. If you liked Fremantle in the early 90s, it might bring back those good old days. Karaoke was fun, and I’d recommend it if you like things simple and nostalgic. The food was good and well priced: $17 including a Swan schooner. What a deal!

Our bi-monthly Freo bus drivers’ reunion was a great day out. They looked after us really well, and the venue was excellent. The menu is awesome, the food is top class, and the prices are very reasonable.

A decent-sized pub and restaurant, with the sports bar taking up a larger part of the hotel. There was a guitar gathering while I was there, and it sounded great.

(Previously moondyne joes) ☆☆ The Beaconsfield Hotel ☆☆ There’s plenty here: TAB, a sports bar with big-screen TVs and pool tables, a restaurant, and a drive-through bottle shop. The food has been nice when I’ve visited, bar service is pretty good, and the staff seem friendly enough. Karaoke is on Tuesdays between the sports bar and restaurant bar, from 7pm throughout the venue, with neat casual dress. Kids are allowed in the restaurant bar. I haven’t been to Thursday open mic yet, but I understand it’s in the restaurant bar. Fridays and Saturdays are due to have house bands or DJs in the sports bar once renovations are complete. Skimpies are on selected afternoons, so it may be worth calling to confirm the days and times. Parking is limited, but there’s a decent car park at the rear, about a 100m walk away. A great venue once the renovations are done. I look forward to coming back.
