We paid quite a lot for the room, and the main reason was that my husband wanted to return to the room where we spent our wedding night in 1991. Still, I’d have preferred the better appointed rooms at a nearby hotel like Duxton or Pan Pacific. The layout was awkward. To watch the TV, we had to sit on a couch that might not have been clean, since the screen didn’t face the bed, and a lot of the room felt wasted. The spa jets were yellowing and looked dirty, so we didn’t want to use it. Neighbouring doors banging also kept us awake. There was just one complimentary small bottle of water for two of us. I’ve stayed regularly at Perth hotels for business, so I called reception thinking it was a mistake and asked for another. I couldn’t believe they expected two people to share one bottle, but they said hotel policy meant they couldn’t provide another. I’ve never encountered such a restrictive rule over water. When staff are tied to policies like that, it limits how helpful and polite they can be, and eventually gets in the way of service. Very disappointing.

I was pleased to find a bathtub in my room, since plenty of hotels don’t have one these days. The place is clean and modern, though not especially flashy, which is part of its appeal. Rooms are spacious, it’s in the CBD, and the usual admin staff are all there. The basement parking has a cozy, characterful feel.

We had a comfortable, clean and tidy room, and check-in was easy. As a platinum member I was upgraded to a Single exec suite. The waterfront is close by for walks morning or evening, and the Novotel team were great, especially the buffet breakfast staff. The food was decent, though the coffee machine needs servicing. We enjoyed our three nights at Novotel.

We stayed at Novotel Langley from January 1st to January 2nd, 2026, and had a really pleasant time. The gym was well equipped, and I liked relaxing in the stretching area with its lovely lake view. Our luggage went missing at the airport, and James at the front desk, along with the other staff, did everything they could to contact the airport and help us get it back. They were professional and friendly throughout, and we’re very grateful for their help. The service went beyond what we expected, and we were very happy with the stay. We’d happily return to Perth and recommend this hotel.

The upper-floor view is great, and the gym is nice. The room was decent, though its carpet could use replacing because there’s a small hole. It’s affordable and easy to get around from here. The area is quiet, with a road to cross for a morning walk and a playground nearby.
