After a 6hrs flight on my first trip to Perth, all I wanted was a quiet rest. Instead, the traffic was heavy all night, with cop cars and ambulances seemingly chasing each other. The ear plugs beside the bed made sense after that. Opening the bedroom was like opening a tomb. The air felt so thick with years of buildup that my throat turned coarse within seconds. I have dust allergies, and had chest pain, difficulty breathing, and hives. It seemed nobody had cleaned the floors, opened the windows, or cleaned the air-conditioning filters. I’ve travelled to all the main cities and usually have a high tolerance, but this tops the cake. Paying heaps of my hard earned $$$$ for no sleep and being unable to breathe? This is the place. 5 stars? Dreaming.

Lovely location, and the place was very clean. From the balcony I got to watch the fire works from the royal show, with a view of the house opposite that has a turret like a castle.

We stayed for 2 days and were so impressed by the spotless room and how friendly and helpful everyone was. Siti and Leila at the front desk were especially welcoming and helpful, and Evelyn did a wonderful job keeping our room impeccably clean. Thank you, Quest on Rheola, for looking after us so well. The location worked well, with Elizabeth Quay only a few bus stops away. Inside, though, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed properly, and I found a red stain beneath my pillow and on the sheets. I couldn’t see the city from my room, and the bathroom taps had an uneven flow. Most receptionists were polite and helpful, though a few weren’t.
