Residence on Langley Park

Pablo really stood out for his professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help. He made me feel welcome and well looked after, and the rest of the team were friendly too. My room at Residence on Langley was roomy, clean, comfortable, and well set up, so it was easy to unwind after a long day. I had a fantastic stay in Perth.

The room was huge, with a separate lounge, kitchen, laundry, study nook, WIR and bathroom. I was placed here for work, with training just 200m away. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were helpful and informative. The open-air pool was picturesque and the sauna was fantastic. The restaurant seating area is lovely, though it could use a few more menu choices. The lifts were a little fancy, and it took us a few seconds to figure out how to get to our room. A stunningly classy hotel.

The room itself was beautiful and really clean, but the check-in and check-out were the longest and most frustrating I've experienced. We had booked both the room and parking online. On arrival, a female staff member said she couldn't find our reservation and repeatedly asked if we'd booked through a travel agency. We told her it was through the hotel's website, but still had to pay for parking again. We later showed our invoice to another female staff member at the concierge. After a long wait, they found the booking and said the duplicate parking charge would go back to the same card. They wouldn't refund the card transaction fee, though, even though the mistake was theirs. Checkout was no better. The queue was long, and a female staff member saw us waiting but let people who arrived later go ahead twice. We finally had to speak up to be served. The lack of basic service and professionalism was very disappointing. The staff need training in communication, organisation, and handling customers. This left a terrible impression, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The price is fair for what you get, and I didn't have a bad stay, but this didn't meet my expectations for a five-star hotel. I'd call it three stars at most, and the place needs a revamp. There were empty halls, old bathrooms, mould in the sauna, gym AC that barely worked, mosquitoes in the bathroom lobby, and toilet paper wasn't refilled regularly enough. The pool and lobby look nice, and the beds are comfortable. The location is good, with shops below, and the pool itself is pleasant. Still, small things you'd expect at a five-star place were missing, like a coffee machine and pods, a free toothbrush, and basic toiletries. Despite the advertising, you can't have a cocktail by the pool, and there's no food or drink service there. Google really should show three stars, because the current rating is misleading. I wanted to set expectations for other guests. Good value, yes. Five star, no.
