The quickest drive takes you to Macrossan Street, with its restaurants, bars and the beach, even though the place isn't right on the sand. My partner and I found it peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed after busy weeks at work. I wouldn't choose it for a holiday with kids, as the atmosphere feels very Zen and restful, a bit like White Lotus. There are other resorts better suited to both children and adults. For a retreat style break, I'd highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful babymoon here. The private pool was impeccably maintained, and we spent most of our time there. It has a clean, peaceful feel and an authentic Balinese vibe, ideal if privacy and relaxation are what you're after.

The restaurant was fantastic, and room service arrived promptly. Our villa was very clean, with lots of kitchen equipment, though things were scattered around and took a bit of looking to find at first. The views are stunning, and everything felt well maintained. Niramaya was a great place to rest and recharge, almost like having our own resort. The room layout felt a little disjointed, with the bedroom separate from the lounge. There were baby frogs everywhere, which I assume were cane toads, so we had to watch our steps to avoid squashing them. They were in the pool too. Sadly, the outside showers were covered in spider webs, so I couldn't use them. Thanks for a relaxing stay, and I hope to return one day.

The staff were friendly and the service was first class. The restaurant was sensational, with delicious, high quality food at a reasonable price. The ambience was fantastic, like spending a day in Bali without the statues, taxes, immigration queues or crossing the line.

The food and pools were beautiful, and the service throughout was amazing. The spa was lovely on its own, but Craig, Julieta and Pauline made our trip feel even more exciting, comfortable and welcoming. I'd recommend staying here to anyone planning a visit to Port Douglas.
