Verandahs

Brooke gave us such a friendly, welcoming check-in and was really helpful. The whole week at Verandahs Port Douglas felt peaceful and easy. Our apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable, with beds that made for great sleep. The place was beautifully maintained, and everything seemed thoughtfully arranged. We loved relaxing by the pool, and the shared kitchen and BBQ made breakfast and simple dinners convenient. Verandahs felt like a little slice of paradise. We'd happily come back and recommend it to anyone after a quiet, relaxing stay in Port Douglas.

Our holiday had to be cancelled because of an unexpected family matter, so I can't comment on the rooms. The team were very kind and generous about changing the dates, and I can't thank them enough for understanding. We're looking forward to visiting soon. Thank you 🙏🏻.

The pool was lovely, the location convenient, the price good, and the apartment spacious. Amanda at the front desk was especially nice and helpful, and I enjoyed my stay. I'd come back, but the apartment was missing some basics: tissues, paper towel or serviettes, roach spray, and kitchen hand soap. I found two cockroaches, so those things would have come in handy. They left the requested items for me, which was nice. A few extra dollars spent on essentials could make the place much more appealing, especially for families. The floors could do with a mop before guests arrive, since people will notice when walking barefoot on hardwood. Some lights didn't work either. There was no aeroguard, and the window shutters had no fly screens. I've seen similar feedback from others, so I hope they take this constructively.

The beds and couch were really comfortable, and the apartments had everything we needed. We kept the temperature at 24 degrees with the fans on and didn't need to touch the settings. The pool and pretty landscaping were fantastic, and other guests were very respectful. Staff were helpful and made our stay even better. Communication was great, the location was perfect for Port, and the parking garage was handy. On a hot day, it was 15 degrees cooler inside the garage than outside. There's a great balcony with access to a gas grill, plus an on-site washer and dryer. There is no elevator, so getting to higher floors could be difficult if you have accessibility issues. We wished there were USB-C chargers, since people travelling from abroad need a converter. We hope to come back someday. Fully recommend!
