Comfort Resort Waters Edge

Mia was such a lovely person to meet at reception. She was helpful and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The woman with curly hair handling breakfast bookings could take a few customer service cues from her, especially since she tapped her fingers while I was deciding whether to book. We stayed for Valentine's Day and loved our room, including the spectacular balcony view. Cafes and restaurants are all within walking distance. The shower, with soap, conditioner and shampoo provided, was one of the best we've had at a motel. Aside from that breakfast interaction, it was a great place to stay 😊

The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom has no exhaust fan, which is a problem. The receptionist at check-in was very nice and accommodating. Breakfast the next day was a different experience: staff were hard to find, and after standing around for more than five minutes to be seated, I had to go look for someone. At $25, the buffet felt steep, especially when food ran out because the breakfast chef hadn't made enough. The chef didn't seem pleased when we asked about it. I'm a chef myself and wouldn't leave the stands empty. If they were that miserable, they should have left; I felt it showed in the food they served. I'd recommend eating at the local club next door or at one of the other nearby cafes instead. The value and quality are better.

Breakfast was okay, and the staff were a mixed bag: some were really friendly, others less so. The rooms were alright too, though I found a razor on the bathroom shower door. It could easily have been missed, which I understand. What bothered us was the pool. There was duck poo in the water and no sign nearby warning guests. When I asked staff to clean it, they said it was common there, the chemicals would make it okay, and they didn't clean it because it just dissolved. A heads-up would have let us decide whether we were comfortable swimming with duck poo in the pool.

We only stayed one night, but it was a pleasant visit. The water and pool views were lovely, and the pool itself was clean and refreshing. Breakfast was a generous buffet, fresh and nicely presented. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was sanitised adequately, with enough towels for the two of us. Reception and the other staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely return for a longer stay. Highly recommended.
