Robe Marina Accommodation

At over $200 a night, I expected a lot more. Our room had no view and sat right under a staircase. The king-sized bed had an old, lumpy mattress that was uncomfortable. It looked clean at first, but then we saw marks on the washer that looked like blood, which was gross. The soap dispenser and toothbrush holder were dirty too, and the bathroom door had no knob. This place just wasn’t worth that price for us. I’d choose somewhere else.

The room itself was spacious and in very good condition, with a comfortable bed, working air conditioning and a washer/dryer. The kitchenette had no sink, though, so we had to wash dishes in the bathroom. We were also disappointed by the view from our downstairs room: just a little grass and the road, with dirty windows making it worse. The larger multi-bedroom units do get the view. We arrived to find no TV and no hot water. After an unanswered email for three hours, I called and ended up troubleshooting the demand water heater myself. They don’t answer email on weekends. Management suggested a few other fixes, apparently without knowing much about it, before we found the tripped circuit breaker. The TV eventually started working on its own. I would have appreciated a small discount for the trouble of getting the room sorted.

Spacious accommodation by the bay in Robe, and good value.

The area is nice, and the rooms were large and clean. There’s no cooking equipment, and the bathroom could use an update. Although it’s close to the harbour, the lower area has no view of it, just the street and car park.
